Silver Sulfadiazine Cream USP is a topical antibacterial medication used primarily to prevent and treat infections in burns, wounds, and skin ulcers. It combines the broad-spectrum antimicrobial power of silver with the antibiotic action of sulfadiazine, promoting faster healing and protecting damaged skin from infection.

Uses:

• Prevention and treatment of infections in second- and third-degree burns

• Management of infected wounds, skin grafts, and ulcers

• Helps promote a clean environment for wound healing

How It Works:

• Silver ions kill a wide range of bacteria and fungi by damaging their cell walls.

• Sulfadiazine inhibits bacterial growth by interfering with the production of folic acid, essential for their survival.

How to Use:

• Clean the affected area thoroughly before application.

• Apply a thin layer of cream (about 1.6mm thick) over the entire wound area once or twice daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider.

• Cover with a sterile dressing if needed.

• Reapply after dressing changes or if the cream has been removed from the wound.

Precautions:

• For external use only.

• Avoid use if allergic to sulfonamides or silver compounds.
