Ciprofloxacin Eye Drops, 0.3%, 10ml

Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic for Bacterial Eye Infections

Ciprofloxacin Eye Drops 0.3% is a prescription antibiotic eye medication used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, including conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers. It contains ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that effectively eliminates a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis.

Composition (per mL):

• Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 3 mg (0.3%)

• Sterile aqueous base, suitable for ophthalmic use

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults and children (1 year and above):

  • Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 hours while awake for the first 2 days

  • Then every 4–6 hours for the next 5 days, or as directed by a physician

• Treatment usually lasts 7–14 days, depending on infection severity

• Wash hands before and after use

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination

Precautions:

• For ophthalmic use only

• Do not use for viral or fungal eye infections

• Discontinue use if irritation, swelling, or rash occurs

• Use caution in patients with known quinolone allergies

• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding
  

Possible Side Effects:

• Mild burning or stinging sensation after application

• Blurred vision temporarily

• Redness, irritation, or itching (rare)

• Hypersensitivity reactions (very rare)

Storage Instructions:

• Store at 15–25°C (room temperature)

• Protect from light and moisture

• Do not freeze

• Discard 4 weeks after opening the bottle
