Ciprofloxacin Eye/Ear Drops, 0.3%

Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic for Eye and Ear Infections

Ciprofloxacin 0.3% Eye/Ear Drops is a topical antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes and ears. It contains ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Formulation:

• Concentration: 0.3% w/v (3 mg/mL) Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride

• Dosage Form: Sterile ophthalmic/otic solution

• Packaging: 5 mL / 10 mL dropper bottle

 

Dosage & Administration:

Eye Use:

• Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye every 2–4 hours on the first day, then reduce frequency as infection improves (usually for 7 days).

Ear Use:

• Instill 4 drops into the affected ear twice daily for 7 days, or as prescribed.

Note: Always wash hands before and after use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to surfaces or eyes/ears.

Precautions:

• For external use only

• Do not use for viral or fungal infections

• Discontinue if irritation, rash, or swelling occurs

• Not recommended for patients with known fluoroquinolone allergy

• Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding (consult physician)

Possible Side Effects:

• Mild eye/ear irritation or discomfort

• Tearing or itching (eye use)

• Temporary blurred vision (after eye drop application)

• Ear pain or itching

• Rare: allergic reactions

 

Storage:

• Store at 15–25°C (room temperature)

• Do not freeze

• Keep the bottle tightly closed

• Discard 4 weeks after opening
