Non-Drowsy Antihistamine for Allergy Relief in Children

Cetirizine Syrup is a second-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms caused by allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, and itching of the throat or nose. It is also effective in treating chronic urticaria (hives) and other allergic skin conditions. Cetirizine provides long-lasting relief without significant drowsiness, making it a safe and effective choice for children.

Composition (per 5 ml):

• Cetirizine Hydrochloride – 5 mg

 

Dosage & Administration:

• Children 2–6 years: 2.5 ml once daily (can be divided into two doses)

• Children 6–12 years: 5 ml once daily or 2.5 ml twice daily

• Adults and children over 12: 10 ml once daily

• Shake well before use

• Administer using a proper measuring cup or oral syringe

Always follow the doctor’s instructions for age-appropriate dosing.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in children under 2 years – only under medical supervision

• May cause mild drowsiness, though less than older antihistamines

• Inform your doctor of any liver or kidney conditions before use

• Avoid mixing with alcohol or other sedating medications

• Do not exceed recommended dose
